Anyone who had to wear the big silver braces when he was younger likely still bears scars from being humiliated by peers and strangers. Were you ever called "metal mouth" by other kids? You would have been content to purse your lips forever rather than anyone know that you had braces. New Market dentist Fotolia_4950930_XS.jpg

These days, the dental world is light years from those days of metal braces. Today there is such a thing as invisible braces commonly known to consumers as Invisalign invisible braces.

One reason for the huge popularity of the Invisalign or New Market invisible braces is that nobody can see them. You can feel free to wear a big huge smile and nobody will think, "that person is wearing braces." If kids have to wear braces, these are the kind they want. Adults love them too as they don't make you think of kids wearing braces.

But Invisaligns do have their drawbacks. Dentists report that they can't do major adjustments. They are really only useful for minor adjustments. Dentists say they are best for older folks who have seen an orthodontist in the past for major work but the teeth have relapsed back to where they were.

Invisalign or New Market invisible braces are especially useful in a situation where a tooth has had to be pulled and the hole is still there. Having an empty space in your mouth like that gives your teeth freedom to move. Then when you get your crown, you will discover that your teeth have moved to the point that the implant, which is a huge part of getting a crown, can't be inserted into the space that is left–it's not big enough. If you find yourself in this situation, your New Market dentist will most likely use New Market invisible braces to fix what has moved so you can proceed with a crown. And Invisalign or New Market invisible braces can also be utilized just where needed. If, for instance, just your front teeth are crowded, those teeth can be isolated with Invisalign. When the dentist has addressed that problem, the veneers or crown you want can be taken care of.

Using the Invisalign braces means you can have your work done in a year. With the traditional braces, you won't be finished for two years.

What else can I say? Invisalign or New Market invisible braces can't be used for every person or every situation. But because they are so flexible, your dentist can probably figure out a way to help you with them.
